Montgomery County’s Inventory of Human Services
.

On April 1, 2007, infoMONTGOMERY’s public website—www.infomontgomery.org—was launched to allow member organizations to view the new site.

infoMONTGOMERY is Montgomery County's collaboratively maintained inventory of human services. By connecting individuals to services and by providing a platform to evaluate gaps in services, we hope to more effectively meet the needs of Montgomery County's children, families and adults.

Montgomery County, MD has long been committed to providing a wealth of human services. Throughout Montgomery County, networks of private and public organizations work toward meeting the needs of the County's residents. Still other human service organizations work to help residents find the services they need, even though they may not provide them directly, through an information and referral process.

With representatives from government and non-profit organizations responsible for information & referral and for systems-wide planning, the Collaboration Council has been leading an initiative to establish a universal, up-to-date directory of human services across the service spectrum in Montgomery County for all agencies to share. This directory is iinfoMONTGOMERY.

Visit our website—www.infomontgomery.org—for more information, and to search our database of services.

How it works

  • Organizations are given a password and training on how to enter and update program information to this website. Information will help to compile an inventory of human service resources to identify gaps and guide funders in targeting needy communities. Rather than a snapshot survey of what is available, by using this database to gather information we will create an evolving list of human services in Montgomery County. We can use this approach to avoid program surveys in the future. Member organizations will receive automatic e-mail reminders to ensure that information is kept up-to-date. Membership is free.

  • Organizations included in the database will be managed by some of the collaborative partners. In their area of expertise, these resource specialists will be responsible for inviting service providers to join the database and will approve the service information entered before it is made public.

  • Resource information on services provided, eligibility criteria, service area and delivery sites will be publicly accessible via a dedicated website by early next Spring.

  • A Steering Committee made up of representatives from government and non-profit organizations is responsible for coordinating the database plan; oversee feedback from member organizations and end users; and develop a budget and funding plan.
